# Responding to candidates clinic

**Key take outs from the session:**

* Employee referrals are much more likely to convert to hires, so always prioritise them
* Calling or texting will get a much better response rate than emails
* Respond to new candidates within 15 minutes.
* Look for high potential, reassure and listen to your candidate’s story. Making a connection will reveal much more about values than a CV
