# Changing the date of a candidate update

Follow these simple steps to edit the date of a referral/candidate's outcome:

**Step 1:** Hover over the date you would like to edit and click on the **pencil symbol** that appears:

**Step 2:** Click in the **date box** and select the new date from the calendar. You can use the arrow icons in the top left and right-hand corners of the calendar to change the month:

**Step 3:** Click on '**update**':

That's it! A green **'date updated'** banner will appear in the top right-hand corner of the screen, and the date will be updated on the tile.
